Worship and Wisdom
January 21, 2018 Preacher: Jeff Eastwood Series: Life of David
Passage: 1 Samuel 14:1–52
1 Samuel 14 is jam packed; 15 sermons or more could be preached from this rich text. The continued contrast between Saul and his son Jonathan grows ever more stark, highlighting the wisdom of the latter and the foolishness of the former. Foolishness is not a lack of intelligence but a lack of dependence on God. Wisdom, then, embraces worship and the prerequisites thereof, is not selfish, readily repents, sees beyond the surface, is attractive, and ultimately points to wisdom incarnate, who is Jesus. Follow along as Pastor Jeff preaches 'Worship & Wisdom' from 1 Samuel 14.
