Passage: 2 Samuel 23:1–7
Although in this passage, these aren’t the last actual words spoken by David, they were David’s last formal reflection on the state of his reign under God’s covenant with him. We have hope, because God is working out his plan in and through David and beyond him through Christ, now and forevermore. His eternal kingdom will reign. For that, we have reason to hope.
