Promises: we've all given them and had them given to us, and we've all broken some and had some broken on us. Despite their tenuous nature, clinging to a promise can give great hope, and when our promise-making and promise-keeping God has made a promise, we know that it will always come to pass. As we consider the Christmas story through the eyes of Mary, neither the seeming delay of God's promise, nor the turmoil making it seemingly impossible to keep, deter her faith.
