Pride — so insidious, rarely self-recognized, and expansively devastating. For a brief period of time, as the full scale of this global pandemic came into focus, there was generally a widespread recognition of our inability to answer something so invasive, unknown, and destructive. Yet it wasn't long before the prognostications, back-biting, and self-aggrandizing began again in earnest. May God help us to be teachable, not only willing to listen to advice but actively seeking it from many trusted and varied sources.
