Passage: Ecclesiastes 5:18–20

When we learn to have joy in every circumstance, it becomes less about what we have, and more about who we are in Christ. We can be in poverty, yet be satisfied that our life in Jesus is fulfilling. Yet we can be so wealthy that we’re totally distracted from Jesus and be drawn away from Him because we’re stressed out and it could ruin our heart; it could take you far from God.

Joy is not the absence of pain or struggle, it’s the satisfaction of knowing that God’s plan - in the good and the bad - are ultimately to make us conform to the image of Christ Himself.
