The narrative goes from concise and fast-paced to slow motion, drawing out details previously deemed unnecessary but now agonizingly minute. All of this is in aid of the author's purpose and reveals to us the painstaking precision of Esther's preparation for acting courageously. We can never know the future but we are always assured of God's promises and presence and so we prepare based on his loving care for us and trust him with the outcome.
