In Esther 6 we continue to see the rapid demise of a self-absorbed man who believes himself to be far greater than he is. This is the problem when we exalt ourselves higher than we ought — God humbles us. God righteously honors a man, Mordecai, who deserves to be honored for foiling an assassination plot against the king and he does so with such delicious irony. There is only one person though, who God has exalted over all His creation and that is Jesus. He is worthy of all the recognition, power, and rank because of what He did at the cross on our behalf.
