Of all the messages to the seven churches, Laodicea seems to be the most recognizable, the warnings against lukewarmness having been amply shared with the North American church over the last two generations. While apathy seems to be the presenting reality, as we look beneath the surface we see the issue is more clearly spiritual blindness born out of insidious self-reliance. We have examined six churches where to one degree or another there is a recognition of pressure, problems, and persecution and now our attention is turned to a church that appears oblivious to any issues whatsoever. Follow along as we uncover the love that compels Christ to tell the truth of radical need to a church sailing on the winds of material prosperity.
