Revelation 4 is an amazing doxological vision that exalts God the creator, ruler, redeemer, and sustainer of all things. He is high and lifted up, transcendent, glorious, magnificent, and above any other superlatives ability to describe. John is privileged to glimpse into the very throne room of the most high and through his description of this experience we are blessed to get a sense of the weight and authority of the one who spoke all things into existence. Whatever may happen here on earth, however dark it may appear, for however long it may last, one reality remains — God is in control of all things, past, present, and future, all glory to him alone!
