Revelation 9 presents a terrifying vision of God's judgment as the fifth and sixth trumpets unleash demonic forces upon the earth. It's so bad, in fact, that people under judgement will long to die and not be able to taste death. This passage confronts us with the reality of humanity's deep corruption in sin and how God, in His justice, even uses demonic forces to bring judgment upon a rebellious world. We are reminded that sin enslaves, blinds, and hardens. This passage points us to our greatest need: redemption through Christ. Only by His grace can we escape judgment and be transformed from depravity to holiness.
