Passage: Revelation 10:1–11
Revelation 10 is an interlude between the blowing of the 5th and 6th trumpets and the blowing of the 7th. The devastation brought about as a result of the judgements of the 5th and 6th trumpet judgements in chapter 9 can be unsettling unless we remember the vision of the resurrected and glorified Jesus in chapter 1, the throne room of God in chapters 4 & 5, and the sealing of the saints of God in chapter 7. We are sons and daughters of God, sealed forever by the Holy Spirit, and therefore cannot be objects of God's wrath. No matter how dark things get, no matter how much pain we face, no matter how much suffering we endure and for how long, our eternal destiny is fixed, our adoption into God's family final, and our relationship with our loving heavenly Father, through Jesus by the Spirit, secure. Nothing in heaven and on earth can separate us from the love God has for us. Have hope, rejoice, and thank God in all things, for if you are his, you are his forever, and no power anywhere in the universe can change that!
