July 6, 2025 Preacher: Luke Playford Series: Summer in the Psalms
Passage: Psalm 3:1–8
Psalm 3 is the first of thirteen Psalms of David with a historical context. It was written while David fled from his son Absalom in 2 Samuel 15–18. This period of David’s life was full of conflict in his family because of his past sins. David felt the weight and pressure of life that could easily lead to despair. He felt pressure on his life and kingship from many angles. Despite the pressure raging around him, he found peace in God's protection and promises.
