September 21, 2025 Preacher: Jeff Eastwood Series: Revelation
Passage: Revelation 18:1–24
On this Sunday, we examined Revelation 18, which is made up of a series of judgement statements intermixed with several eulogies spoken over the world system by those who trusted and delighted in it. For all those who put their trust in their immediate surroundings, who treasured the seemingly endless delights of this temporary earth, who ignored and mocked the one who made and sustains it all, hoarding his good blessings for their own pleasure, wasting his gifts and twisting them into darkness and evil, God's mercy is at an end. We watch in horror as those who are being judged not only fail to repent, but grieve the loss of their debauchery, devastated that their debased and disgusting reverie is ended. God help us to treasure him above all things and cease investing in anything that is an object of his just punishment.
