In Revelation 19:11, heaven opens and John sees Jesus Christ returning to earth—not as the humble servant of His first coming, but as a conquering King. He rides a white horse, symbolizing victory. Christ comes in justice to judge the nations and to make war. From His mouth comes a sharp sword—His word—by which He strikes down evil. There are many things in our world that cause us to think that the darkness is greater than Jesus, and yet with one word, and without a fight, Christ will defeat our enemies. If Jesus can defeat Satan with a single word, then we can be confident in Him.
