Passage: Job 1:1–22

On this Sunday, we were looking at the resources God has given us as we prepared for Malachi Month, our annual season of giving above and beyond our regular tithes and offerings to the ministry God has blessed us with at Grace. Our passage is Job 1, and we are keying in on Job's assessment of his horrible situation after God allows Satan to personally attack him. With multiple sources of pain and grief hitting him simultaneously, Job worships God and has the perspective that he entered life with nothing and will leave with nothing; God gave, and God took away, and so may God's name be blessed. Our prayer is that we can have a similar outlook on life, trusting God in all circumstances and holding all his gifts with an open hand, knowing that he is our ultimate treasure and if we have a relationship with him, we not only need nothing else, we have riches abundant in him.
