Passage: Job 1:6–12
In Job 1:6–12, we are given a rare glimpse into the unseen spiritual realm. Behind the scenes of Job’s peaceful and prosperous life, a conversation is taking place. Satan challenges the sincerity of Job's faith and claims that he only loves God because God has blessed and protected him. At its core, Satan's attack is not just against Job but against God's character, repeating the same ancient lie that God cannot be trusted. God affirms Job's integrity, yet in His sovereignty permits the test. These verses force us to wrestle with the sobering reality that faithful obedience does not exempt us from suffering, and our trials may be part of a much bigger story than we can see.
