Remembrance

April 5, 2026 Preacher: Jeff Eastwood Series: The Book of Job

Topic: Easter Passage: Job 12:1–25

On this Easter Sunday, we looked at the gospel through Job 12. Job begins to answer Zophar and share the shrunken view he and Job's other friends have of God. Their theology is cruel and mocking, their traditions are woefully inadequate, and their view of God is seriously limited. Far too often, we try to put God in a box, attempting to make everything make sense. By doing so, we ignore those realities that don't fit our preconceived notions, we unfairly judge those who question us, and we treat God as less than he is, restricting our ability to truly know him. May Job's suffering cause us to remember that God is graciously sovereign over all things, that our suffering is never meaningless, and that Jesus' suffering on our behalf makes all things new.
