Fearless Faith

Passage: Job 13:1–28

In Job 13, Job moves from frustration with his friends to a bold, honest approach to God. After hearing their empty and worthless advice, he recognizes that their words cannot truly help. He accuses them of defending God poorly and speaking falsely of Him. Instead of staying silent or merely accepting his suffering, Job speaks directly to God, expressing both his confusion and his trust. Job is confident that he has not sinned against God and sees that the only way to get to the bottom of his confusion is to speak with God directly. Job 13 challenges us to draw near to God in our struggles, even when we do not understand.
