Grace Baptist Academy
Our Grace Baptist Academy exists to help us intentionally invest in gospel-centred relationships that cultivate mature followers of Jesus Christ to the glory of God. It does this specifically through teaching and guiding followers of Jesus Christ to continually deepen their knowledge of and relationship with the God of the Word and the Word of God.
Grace Baptist Academy (GBA) exists in two distinct yet complementary tracks.
The first track is our regular Sunday morning GBA classes, offered each Sunday morning from 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM. There are twelve classes as part of the curriculum with three courses offered each semester. Students can opt to either audit these courses or do additional work for their own benefit.
The second track is our GBA evening classes. These are offered through a variety of institutions and ministries with varying levels of accreditation.
The first type of courses are those offered through other ministries online and are offered as a hybrid of in-class discussion and online instruction, facilitated by qualified members of Grace Baptist Church (GBC). Our partners in this are:
Our Partners
Charles Simeon Trust:
We have partnered with the Charles Simeon Trust (https://simeontrust.org/) and the Timothy Trust to provide training in Biblical exposition for both men and women. These foundational classes train followers of Jesus Christ in how to best understand, study, interpret, and present the truth of the Bible to both fellow followers of Jesus Christ and those who do not yet follow Him.
Association of Certified Biblical Counsellors
We have partnered with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (https://biblicalcounseling.com/) to offer training in Biblical counseling, equipping followers of Jesus Christ in responding to hurt, sin, suffering, and pain in both their fellow followers of Jesus Christ and those who do not yet follow Him. This training counts towards full certification with ACBC or can be audited to provide a solid Biblical foundation for giving speaking truth in love in the midst of any situation our fellow sinners are struggling with.
Locally
We have partnered with a local pastor and Greek professor to offer Biblical Greek I and II, giving students a basic understanding of the Greek New Testament. This greatly aids in understanding the New Testament and helps students know the God of the Word and the Word of God in a deeper and richer way.
Off-Site Institutions
The second type of courses are those offered by off-site accredited institutions and count toward a degree. These institutions are:
Union School of Theology (https://www.ust.ac.uk/) where we offer their GDip (Graduate Diploma of Biblical Studies). We are a certified Union Learning Community and our Lead Elder serves as the Lead Mentor for this program. Students enroll at UST and earn their GDip over the course of two years through watching online lectures, participating in evening classes with fellow students, and completing all course requirements.
