A major hindrance to being generous is our reliance on stuff. Our accumulation of more stuff and hesitation to divest ourselves of all the stuff we already have reveals our need for it, fascination with it, and trust in it to satisfy and perhaps ultimately save us. Sadly, it cannot. But thankfully, Jesus goes to the heart of the matter and admonishes us to stop hoarding stuff on earth and instead to store up the heavenly things of living life God's way. With His amazing precision, He calls us to see that wherever we have stored things up will be where our true heart's desire and focus will be.
