Freely Giving

January 19, 2020 Preacher: Jeff Eastwood Series: Gospel Sacrifice

Passage: Matthew 6:1–4

Perhaps one of the most misunderstood passages on money in the Bible is Matthew 6:1-4, in particular, the phrase "don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing". Coupled with the idea of our giving being secret, this has led to the belief that not only should no one know what we give, they shouldn't even ask. But is that what Jesus meant, especially in light of 6:19-21 (see the sermon from Jan 5th, 2020)? Rather than a shroud of secrecy, Jesus is admonishing us to freely give - as a lifestyle, giving so much so often that we don't even remember how much we gave. Follow along as Pastor Jeff preaches on "Freely Giving" and wraps up the two-part mini-series on giving to start 2020.
