We start our sermon series in Daniel with a sermon titled "Pressure" from Daniel 1:1-7. Daniel and his three friends faced intense pressure as teen boys. They were kidnapped from their homes and taken to a foreign nation, their names were changed, their education was turned to indoctrination, and even their diet was attempted to be switched. Everything about their previous identity was challenged as the hostile society around them pushed as hard as they could for assimilation. We certainly face the same reality today in our culture and we have much to learn from these four young men as we seek to be salt and light in a society of decay and darkness.
