Peace

October 1, 2023 Preacher: Luke Playford Series: Daniel

Passage: Daniel 2:1–16

As we started into the second chapter of Daniel this week, we looked at “Peace”. Daniel is faced with one of his first challenges after going through the Chaldean indoctrination training. King Nebuchadnezzar has a dream that causes him to go into a frenzy of anxiety. What we see in our passage is a contrast between two men. One man has worldly peace and is being confronted with the idea that his kingdom is not as secure as he thought it was. He is not at peace with God. The other man, Daniel, is at peace with God and it shows in both his actions and reactions to what is going on around him. God gives peace in all circumstances, but peace can only be found when we are first at peace with God.
