The cycle of pressure to deny God, God giving strength to stay true to Him, God displaying His superiority to anyone and anything else, and that seemingly being recognized by those who previously denied Him only to start all over again continues in chapter 3. Conformity is subtle and seemingly innocuous but is actually deadly and slowly erodes our confidence in and loyalty to God and His word. We are bombarded daily with the siren call of conformity and we must ask God consistently to give us the strength to stand firm in His gracious sovereignty.
