Passage: Daniel 3:8–30

Daniel's three friends are faced with a choice—outwardly conform and worship the image Nebuchadnezzar set up, or stand firm in God's sovereignty and likely die. With repeated pressure to conform, and with new positions inside the Babylonian government, they seemingly had nothing to gain and everything to lose by remaining true to God and His word. Thankfully, they knew better, and realized that to compromise at this juncture would be instead to lose everything they had relied on God to see Him give them and gain only confusion and derision for the One True God (Matthew 16:26). May we rely on His grace to make the same choices every day, worshipping Him exclusively and not allowing anyone or anything take His rightful place in our hearts and minds.
