What an indescribable blessing wisdom is. To know God's heart and mind and to live in light of it is beyond our ability to be fully grateful for, yet we can access this and know who we are, why we are here, what we're supposed to be doing while we're here, and who we will be with when this life is done. To be without wisdom, or worse, to be aware of wisdom and actively reject it, is the height of foolishness. Daniel is in his eighth decade of life and, having lived wisely for so long, he reacts strongly to the purposefully and heedless foolishness of Belshazzar. May we treasure God above all things and live life according to His wisdom in all things.
