God is resolved to fulfill His plan as an outflow of His character and nothing, not even the haughtiest of earthly rulers with all their puny bluster, can thwart Him. He is the ultimate authority and He alone rules in heaven and on earth. This deeply comforting truth ought to keep the resolve of God's followers strong, especially in the face of confusing and chaotic times where tyrants spout their vanity and mock the very One Who lends them breath. May we resolve to trust God even as He reminds us that He has all realities, including the entirety of human history, under His control and moving according to His purposes and plan.
