March 3, 2024 Preacher: Jeff Eastwood Series: Daniel

Passage: Daniel 8:15–27

Despite our best efforts with things like insurance, savings, calendars, and the like, there are still events in our lives that catch us off guard. Depending on the severity of the surprise and shock, we recover to a greater or lesser degree but we are often left wishing we had been better prepared for what came our way. One way some try to do this is, as Pastor Luke mentioned last Sunday, to pursue a vain attempt to understand the future ahead of time. The way of God's word, however, is not to supplant God or obsess over the details of His gracious prophetic word but instead to trust the One Who is already in the future, the One Who has our best interest always in His heart, and Who alone has all power to work everything after the counsel of His own will.
