Worship and Allegiance

June 3, 2018 Preacher: Jeff Eastwood Series: Life of David

Passage: 2 Samuel 2:1–11

2 Samuel 2:1-11 opens with a period of transition. Transitions are rarely easy, and the one between the rule of Saul and the rule of David is no different. There are two camps present- the camp of submission to God and the camp of reliance on self. Judah, three times in this short portion of the text, aligns themselves with God and God's man. Abner, at the place Jacob named "two camps" in Gen 32, anoints the "man of shame", Saul's surviving son Ishbosheth. The question for all of us is- which camp are we in? Follow Pastor Jeff as he preaches "Worship and Allegiance" from 2 Samuel 2:1-11 and encourages all of us to ask the question- where does our full allegiance lie?
