Our passage for this week is Hebrews 7:11-28 and the theme is "presence", specifically the presence of God with us or the blessed reality of our being welcomed into His presence. All of this is predicated on the perfection of Christ, something the author of Hebrews has mentioned repeatedly up to this point in his sermon/letter but which he really drives home in this passage. How amazing it is for us, and how startling it would have been for the Jewish audience, to know the blessed uniqueness of Christ's superior priesthood!
