As we come to our passage this week in Hebrews 12:18-29 we are called to consider how motivation helps in running the race of faith. What motivates you to press on in faith when things around you are pulling the other way? There are times when things in our past motivate us, but sometimes it is the things ahead which we long for that help just as much. The author of Hebrews holds up Jesus, the New Covenant, and the present realities of God's Kingdom as rock solid motivators for pressing on during the midst of trials and sufferings.
