Our passage is James 3:1-12 and the title is "Power". The specific topic James addresses is our speech and why we use it the way we do. If we use it to influence people to worship God, that can be powerful in the life of those who submit to Him. If we use it to draw people away from God, that can be an equally powerful influence in the life of those who reject Him. What we say, and the heart our words originate from, are realities that we must continually submit to God, as they have tremendous power in the lives of those we interact with.
